Equity Valuation Services

Venture backed companies are required by the IRS (Section 409A) to show that their equity compensation is not issued at less than fair market value. In addition, these companies must also use the fair-value method of accounting for stock-based compensation, such as stock options, to comply with Financial Accounting Standards Board rules (ASC 718 amd 505-50). Therefore, these companies need a formal valuation opinion, at a minimum annually, to avoid potential tax penalties. >>
